Cesenatico
Cesenatico is an ancient seaport created from a Leonardo Da Vinci project, in which colours and tastes fuse together the old tradition with relax, sun, sea, fun, fitness, shopping and the sparkly night life.

CASA MORETTI
The house where the famous writer Mario Moretti was born is today a museum where the writerīs books, documents of the period and the original furnitures are kept.
Itīs possible to visit the house by booking.

SAINT GIACOMO PARISH CHURCH
Built in 1324 and restructured during the centuries, its aspect belongs to the last remaking of the architect Pietro Barboni (1736).
Inside the chapel two paintings are kept (Saint Antonio and Saint Joseph) by Guido Cagnacci (1601/1633).

THE COLUMS
At both sides of the bridge that links the east and west side, yuo can admire two colums of probable Greek-Byzantine origin built at the beginning of 500 during the Venice rule. |
TOWN THEATER
The theater was built for popular will thanks to a public subscription and to a project of the architect Candido Panzani, it was unveiled in 1865.
The theater suffered great damages during war periods, it was completly restored and since 1993 itīs regularly in use.

LE CONSERVE
Very close to Porto Canale you can visit Le Conserve or ice-houses, a sort of big wells filled up with ice or snow that were used to conserve the fish. 'Le conserve' date back to the XVIth century, an age in which Cesenatico represented an important landing place for fishing-boats of the Adriatic sea.
These ice-houses were used until the beginning of the twentieth century. Three of them were restored representing the connection between the people and the sea.
Every morning in the square in front of 'Le Conserve' there is a small flowers and vegetable market.

ANTIQUARIUM
Some excavations have checked out traces of settlements in the Roman/Republican/Emperial age in this territory. Inside the Antiquarium very interesting things found during the excavations are exposed: peaces of two statues representing Dedalo and Icaro coming from the roman Kiln whose rests are still in Ca Turchi.

MONUMENT OF GARIBALDI
Near Porto Canale you can see the most ancient statue of the italian matrix dedicated to the heroic Garibaldi.
Hence the hero of the Worlds departed in 1849 after the fall of the Roman Republic, with the aim of overtaking Venice.
Upon Porto Canale itīs possible to visit the house where Anita Garibaldi died.

PORT
It was build because during the XIVth century Cesena needed a sea mouth for its merchant traffic. Afterwords Cesare Borgia decided to work with the aim of giving security and protection from the strength of the waves.This project was entrusted to Leonardo Da Vinci. The copy of the Da Vinci Code with the port-drawing is available at the town Library but the original one is kept in library of the Istitute de France in Paris. |
NAVY MUSEUM
This is the only floating museum in Italy with prototypes of the boats of the high and medium Adriatic sea (Topo, Bragozzo, Paranza, Battana, Trabaccolo da Trasporto. In the museum hall several finds are exposed "telling the story" of the people of the sea.

PANTANI SPACE
In a 300 square meters area totally dedicated to the "Pirate" champion of Cesenatico. Audiovisual materials, pictures and relics are exposed.

FERRIES TO CROAZIA
It's possible to join Croazia every day thanks to a new very quick and efficient ferry service, that in just two hours allows to reach Pola, Rovigo,Lussina, Bozowa Hvar. It's also possible to bring bicycles on board.

MOTORSHIP
In Cesenatico there are a lot of motorship points of departure, for daily trips in the mids of the sea with music, fun, food and wonderful views of the coast.
Some motorships are specically organized for mackerel deep sea fishing;
equipment provided on board.
