Ravenna means mosaic, cult and culture.
30 km far from Cesenatico, the City of Ravenna is being under the Unesco World Heritage, the melting pot of religious early Christian and Byzantine monuments decorated with wonderful mosaics skilfully executed. 2000 years of history wait for you in your sight-seeing among alleys, narrow streets that will take you until the Mausoleum of Theodoric, the Arian Baptistery, the Church of San vitale, the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe and the Archiepiscopal Chapel.

Repubblica di San Marino
San Marino, built on Monte Titano in 301, is 35 km far from Cesenatico and it's situated at 750 meters above the sea level on the border between the region of Emilia Romagna and Marche. It's the third-smallest country in Europe after Monaco and the Vatican City. It's possible to visit the town with daily trips wondering in front of this fascinating Middle Age village among palaces, castles, souvenirs and breath-taking landscapes.

50 km far from Cesenatico on the border between the region of Emilia Romagna and Marche. The Middle Ages Fortress (La Rocca) overlooks Gradara. The castle was the scenary of legendary, historical and political events with families of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance: Malatesta, Sforza, Borgia and Della Rovere. The tradition tells that in the family of Malatesta took place the love tragedy of Paolo and Francesca told in the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.

The fortress of San Leo is at 40 km from Cesenatico, it was built upon an imposing rock, like hanging in the air, overlooking the Valley of Marecchia. San Leo was a very important and fundamental place for many historical and military events of the period. At the origin it was connected with heaten religion and afterwords with Christianity so that since the Xth century it became definitely an epicospal seat. The Middle Ages were the period in which the city touched its greatest magnificence, thanks to the family of Montefeltro whose dinasty seat was in San Leo. The city was nown also for the presence of San Francesco in 1213 and Dante in 1306 and the Lord of Cagliostro a misterious charming alchemist who died in the prison of the fortress in 1795.
Very interesting are the monastery of Sant'Ignazio, the Fortress, the Bell Ringer Towner, the Medicean Palace, the Cathedral and Pieve.

20 km far from Cesenatico between the two rivers Uso and Marecchia there is the ancient village scenary of many events, first of all the feast of Saint Martin. Every year on the 11th of november you can see this namesake feast together with the race of the beaks; once this race was only for those with "horns" (in Italy: those whose partner was unfaithful). In may there is another nice feast: "Balcony in bloom". Do not miss the Etnographic Country Museum with usages and customs of people of Romagna, the fortress of Malatesta, underground grotto, Museum of Pallone and Tamburello.

If you want to jump into proto-historic Italy, in there is an important Etruscan/Villanova settlement. The archeological museum, in an ancient monastery , keeps unique finds: weapons, jewels, kits of ceramics and bronze, gold fibula amber and five wood objects - all belonging to Villanova/Etruscan tombs excavated in a rock. It is worth it to see also the fortress, the collegiate church of Saint Martin and San Francesco D'Assisi .

The legend tells that Galla Placidia, passing through this wonderful hill country, tasting a wine served in a goblet of terracotta, she said that "A so rough goblet is not worthy of you, wine should be served in a golden one." From this legend comes the name of the country (Bertinoro in italian is berti in oro= translation of "to drink in gold" This sweet wine is Albana, produced since milleniums in this territory. The place is famous for the good wine territory and the tipic characteristic cuisine of Romagna. There are innumerable wine cellars, wine shops, pubs, restaurants, where is also possible to admire a great panorama view on the coast.

In Sarsina there are tracks of Umbrians from the IVth century b.c. and in the IIIth century the town was conquired by the Romans. The splendour of this period is evidenced by finds kept in the archeological national museum. Plauto, the most famous Latin writer of comedies, was born here. In his honour since 1956 exists the Plautus Festival, a theatrical review, that takes place every year. It is place for feasts and markets. Sarsina is also a destination of pilgrims since ancient times.

85 km far from Cesenatico, on a hill territory between the valleys of the rivers, Foglia and Metauro. It is a magnific small town as a result of different historical periods together: Roman, Middle Ages, Renaissance.It is worth it to see the wall, the gates, the palaces, the fortress,squares, the churches, the museums, the botanic garden, the famous "small study of the lord" and the paintings of Piero della Francesca and Raffaello.
